Bob & Marge — a character brand built to reach the 55+ audience

Bob & Marge are an original animated senior couple that Zen in Tech created from scratch — a whole character brand and a YouTube channel of funny, warm entertainment Shorts, amplified with paid ads. It exists to solve one hard problem: profitably reaching and warming up a 55+ audience for Innovative Home Technologies’ very specific mobility and bathroom-safety products.

In short: Zen in Tech built Meet Bob and Marge — an original animated character brand and YouTube channel (entertainment Shorts + paid ads) — as an audience engine for a specialized 55+ senior-products brand. The channel has drawn 816K+ views and 10K+ subscribers, with 79% of viewers aged 55+ — exactly the target buyer.

The brief

The challenge

Innovative Home Technologies sells a very specific, high-trust product line — powered toilet and bath lifts, sit-to-stand aids — to seniors and the adult children who care for them. That audience is expensive to reach with cold ads and slow to trust an unknown brand. Interest-targeting a $2,000 medical-adjacent purchase to the right 55+ households, at a price that works, is genuinely hard.

So instead of buying attention one click at a time, we built a brand that earns it. Bob & Marge — a warm, funny animated couple the audience recognizes and roots for — give the brand a face, a voice and a reason to follow, so that by the time a product or ad appears, the brand already feels familiar.

What we delivered

What we build — and how

Original character brand

Bob & Marge — the couple, their look and their world — designed from scratch with Sora AI and Leonardo.ai (characters and atmosphere), as a durable brand asset, not a one-off ad.

Scripts & AI prompt design

Google Gemini and ChatGPT develop the episode scripts and the prompt-and-instruction sets that steer every other AI tool — the creative direction that keeps the characters and humor consistent.

AI animation

Sora AI and Kling.ai generate the animated scenes — the motion, performances and comic timing that make each Short feel alive.

Original music & sound

Suno AI composes custom music and audio per episode, so the channel has its own signature sound instead of stock tracks.

Editing & delivery

CapCut cuts it all together into publish-ready vertical Shorts — pacing, captions, hooks and the format the 55+ audience actually watches.

Channel growth & paid amplification

Programming, titles and thumbnails, community, and paid Shorts + ads on YouTube and Meta that put the content and the products in front of the right households.

Our approach

Our approach

We lead with affection, not offers. The channel’s job is to make people smile and come back — so the brand builds real familiarity with seniors and their families before anything is ever sold. Entertainment first; the product follows a trusted face.

Everything is measured against the real audience. The analytics confirm the strategy works: the channel skews almost entirely to the 55+ viewer the product is for, overwhelmingly in the U.S., mostly on mobile — the exact household we want warm when the ad or product appears.

FAQ

Common questions

What is Meet Bob and Marge?

An original animated character brand and YouTube channel that Zen in Tech created and produces — funny, warm entertainment Shorts starring a senior couple. It is the audience engine for Innovative Home Technologies, a specialized senior-products brand.

Why build a whole brand instead of just running ads?

Because the product is specific and high-trust, and the 55+ audience is expensive to reach cold. A character brand earns a large, familiar audience over time, so paid media and the store convert warm demand instead of strangers.

How do you know it reaches the right people?

The channel’s own YouTube analytics: 79% of viewers are 55+, 91.9% are in the United States, and 85% watch on mobile — an almost perfect match for the senior buyer and the adult children who care for them.
