Rich Results Test
Overview
What the Rich Results Test does
The Rich Results Test fetches a live URL (or code you paste), renders it the way Googlebot does, and identifies the structured data on the page. It then tells you which Google rich result types the page is eligible for, shows a preview where available, and lists errors and warnings that would block or weaken those enhancements. You can test both mobile and desktop.
What it does and doesn't cover
The tool only evaluates structured data types that can produce Google rich results — FAQ, review snippet, product, recipe, breadcrumb, event, and similar. For markup outside that set, or to validate any schema.org type for general correctness, use the Schema Markup Validator instead. Note that eligibility does not guarantee display; Google decides when to actually show rich results.
Why it matters for search visibility
Rich results make a listing larger and more clickable, and the same structured data increasingly feeds AI answer engines. On technical SEO and GEO/AEO projects, our team uses the Rich Results Test to confirm that FAQ, product, and review markup is eligible before launch — so pages compete for enhanced listings rather than plain blue links.

FAQ
Rich Results Test — common questions
Is the Rich Results Test free?
Yes, it is a free tool provided by Google Search. You can test any public URL or paste code directly, with no account required, though signing in to Search Console unlocks related monitoring reports.
Rich Results Test vs Schema Markup Validator?
The Rich Results Test checks eligibility for Google's specific rich result types and shows a preview; the Schema Markup Validator checks any schema.org markup for general correctness. Use the Rich Results Test for search features and the validator for overall validity.
Why does my page pass the test but show no rich results?
Eligibility is not a guarantee. Google shows rich results at its discretion based on content quality, page ranking, and policy compliance, and it can take time after indexing. Monitor the Enhancement reports in Search Console for live status.
