E-E-A-T
Overview
What E-E-A-T stands for
E-E-A-T is the framework in Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines for evaluating content: Experience (first-hand or lived use of the subject), Expertise (depth of knowledge), Authoritativeness (recognition as a go-to source), and Trustworthiness (accuracy, transparency, and safety). The extra E, Experience, was added in 2022. Trust sits at the center — content can be expert yet still fail if it is not trustworthy.
Why E-E-A-T matters
E-E-A-T is not a direct ranking factor; it is a lens human raters and Google's systems use to reward genuinely helpful content. It weighs most heavily for Your Money or Your Life topics — health, finance, legal, and safety — where poor information causes real harm. Strong E-E-A-T also increasingly influences whether AI Overviews and answer engines treat your pages as a citable source.
Building E-E-A-T in practice
Demonstrating E-E-A-T is concrete work: bylined authors with real credentials, first-hand detail, cited sources, clear contact and business information, and content kept accurate over time. Our Content Marketing and GEO & AEO work builds these signals into pages so both search engines and AI answer engines can verify your expertise. With 20+ years and a fully in-house team, we treat credibility as part of production, not an afterthought.

FAQ
E-E-A-T — common questions
Is E-E-A-T a ranking factor?
Not directly. E-E-A-T is a set of quality criteria Google's raters and algorithms use to assess helpfulness. You cannot set an E-E-A-T score, but improving these signals tends to correlate with better rankings, especially on sensitive topics.
What does the extra E in E-E-A-T mean?
The added E stands for Experience — first-hand or lived involvement with the topic. Google introduced it in 2022 to reward content from people who have actually used a product, visited a place, or done the thing they write about.
How do you improve E-E-A-T?
Publish content by credentialed, named authors; add first-hand experience and cited evidence; keep information accurate and current; and make your business identity and contact details transparent. Consistent authority signals across the web reinforce it.
